40-year-old Rankin Inlet man arrested for impaired driving on an ATV: Rankin Inlet RCMP

Rankin Inlet, Nunavut – At approximately 10:00 pm on Wednesday, May 17th 2020. Rankin Inlet RCMP while on a routine patrol, conducted a traffic stop after observing an ATV with four occupants which is double the lawful amount allowed.

The driver of the ATV exhibited and displayed signs of impairment and failed a roadside screening device. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation of motor vehicle. A secondary breathalyser analysis was conducted where the driver was found to be over the legal limit.

A 40-year-old man from Rankin Inlet, NU is facing impaired driving related charges. The driver is scheduled to appear in court on August 10, 2020 in Rankin Inlet.
