Lethbridge Police investigating fatal pedestrian collision

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police are investigating a fatal collision after a 30-year-old male was struck by a vehicle in a south side alley.

On June 1, 2020 at approximately 4:40 p.m. police and EMS responded to a report of a collision between a yellow Dodge Ram truck and a male pedestrian in the west alley along the 900 block of 13 Street South. Upon arrival, a female occupant had exited the truck and was attending to the victim. Prior to police arrival a male occupant in the truck fled in the vehicle. Witnesses also reported a male, who had been walking with the victim, fled on foot.

The victim was transported to hospital and succumbed to his injuries later in the evening.

The matter remains under investigation and police are currently searching for a yellow 2004 Dodge Ram truck with Alberta license plate VNH26. Anyone who has seen the vehicle or has information on its whereabouts is asked to call police at 403-328-4444. In addition, anyone who witnessed the collision is also asked to call police.

No further information is available for release at this time.

UPDATE: Police have located the yellow Dodge truck.

 At this time no arrests have been made in connection with the collision and the investigation is ongoing.
