Drug Trafficking & Weapons Possession in Trochu, Alberta

Trochu, Alberta – The Three Hills RCMP with the assistance of Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit have charged four individuals with charges relating to drug trafficking, drug possession and weapons offences.

On June 5, 2020 at 10:15 a.m. police obtained a search warrant and gained access to a home on Devilder Ave in Trochu, Alberta. A search of the house resulted in the recovery of prohibited weapons, proceeds of crime, a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Adam MATUS (35) of Three Hills, Alberta, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Alexander KOVACS (40) of Three Hills, Alberta, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Simon MAY (30) of Trochu, Alberta has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and fail to comply with release conditions.

Christopher WEICH (33) of Trochu, Alberta has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, traffic in a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of the proceeds of crime over five thousand dollars, and failing to comply with release conditions.

Matus and Kovacs have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Drumheller Court on August 21, 2020.

Weich was held for a bail hearing and was later released on $1000 dollars cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Drumheller Court on August 21, 2020.

May was remanded in custody.
