St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador – Following investigation by RCMP NL and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the body recovered on June 6 from a beach in Doughboy Cove is confirmed to be that of Isaac Kettle, the missing crew member of the Sarah Anne.
The RCMP has informed the Kettle family. We extend our deepest condolences to them and all the loved ones of the crew members who were lost.
St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador – Work is underway by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) and RCMP NL to identify a body recovered today from a beach in Doughboy Cove, east across the ocean from Arnold’s Cove.
Police were notified this morning that lobster fishermen in the area of Doughboy Cove had discovered a body. Clarenville RCMP and Forensic Identification Services travelled to the beach and examined the scene. After consulting with the OCME, the body was secured and is being sent to St. John’s for examination.
The RCMP is in communication with the family of the missing crew member of the Sarah Anne, although no positive identification of the deceased has yet occurred.
The RCMP thanks the fishermen who assisted in the recovery.
