Glovertown RCMP seizes dirt bike for stunting in Sandringham

Glovertown, Newfoundland and Labrador – Glovertown RCMP seized a dirt bike for stunting along Main Street in Sandringham yesterday afternoon.

RCMP officers patrolled the Eastport Peninsula in an unmarked police car after receiving a number of complaints involving all-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes operating dangerously on the roadways.

At approximately 3:20 p.m., police observed a dirt bike driving on Main Street in Sandringham. The dirt bike was travelling on the road with traffic, speeding at times, passing motorists on the right-hand side and operating on one wheel (doing wheelies).

The dirt bike pulled into a gas station and the officers conducted a traffic stop. The operator, a 16-year-old youth from the area, was ticketed for stunting under the Highway Traffic Act and the dirt bike was seized and impounded.
