Medical Examiner Deems Death of Male Found in Westlock Apartment Building Lobby as Homicide

Westlock, Alberta – An autopsy was conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton yesterday and the death of an adult male found in the lobby of an apartment building in Westlock has been deemed a homicide.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate and the name of the deceased male will not be released at this time.

An update will be provided when further information is available.

Westlock RCMP and RCMP Major Crimes Unit Investigate Suspicious Death

Westlock, Alta. – Westlock RCMP and the RCMP Major Crimes Unit are investigating after a body was found in the morning of June 9.

At approximately 10:30am June 9, Westlock RCMP responded to a report of a deceased male found in the lobby of an apartment building located at 10540 103 street in the town of Westlock. Initial investigation led to the Major Crime Unit attending to assist.

Investigators remain on the scene and the death is being investigated as a homicide at this time. An autopsy will be conducted by the Edmonton Medical Examiners office on Thursday June 11th. The deceased has been identified however release of that information is pending notification of the next of kin.
