Man charged in Shane Eric James SMITH homicide case: Calgary Police Service – UPDATED

Calgary, Alberta – We are releasing photos of two vehicles believed to be connected to the homicide of Shane Eric James SMITH.

Police are looking any information in relation to two vehicles seen between midnight on Saturday, June 6 to Tuesday, June 9. It is believed these vehicles were used to move the body of SMITH.

The vehicles are:

A Burgundy Mercedes Benz ML55 bearing Alberta license plate SLPRSLD with after-market chrome rims and a white 2010 Crown Victoria bearing Alberta license plate CFM4615 with aftermarket black rims and a black push-bar on the front.

BACKGROUND

Calgary, Alberta – The Calgary Police Service has charged one man in relation to the homicide of Shane Eric James SMITH.

Last week, investigators appealed to the public for assistance in locating the remains of SMITH, 20, of Chestermere, who was reported missing on Sunday, June 7, 2020. We are still seeking the public’s help in locating SMITH’s body.

Yesterday, we arrested one man who is facing charges in connection to the murder of SMITH.

Ian Charles ABERCROMBIE, 24, of Calgary, has been charged with:

One count of second-degree murder

One count of indignity to a human body

One count of breaching a court order and breach of a firearm prohibition order
