Traffic stop results in three arrests and several charges relating to the possession of drugs

Yorkton, Saskatchewan – On Saturday, June 20th, 2020, officers from the Yorkton RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Yorkton RCMP Detachment conducted a traffic stop in Yorkton, SK.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent search warrant conducted at a residence located on Broadway Street W in the Yorkton Detachment area, officers located and seized the following items: a knife, a pellet gun and ammunition, 1.40 grams of fentanyl, 2.5 capsules of buprenorphine/naloxone, 2.85 grams of heroine, 0.92 grams of illicit marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, approximately $2000.00 cash, and other evidence of drug trafficking.

27-year-old Aray Fullerton of Yorkton, SK has been charged with the following:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance, contrary to Sec. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA); and

• Fail to comply with a probation order, contrary to Sec. 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

25-year-old Justin Kucharyshen of Yorkton, SK has been charged with the following:

• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code;

• Carrying a concealed weapon, contrary to S. 90(2) of the Criminal Code

• Possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5000.00, contrary to Sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

• Fail to comply with a probation order, contrary to Sec. 733.1.(1) of the Criminal Code

• Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization, contrary to Sec. 117.01(3) of the Criminal Code;

• Trafficking of a Schedule I substance, contrary to Sec 5(1) of the CDSA; and

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Sec. 5(2) of the CDSA

21-year-old Rayden Ross of Yorkton, SK has been charged with the following:

• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code;

• Fail to comply with a probation order, contrary to Sec. 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code;

• Possession of a Schedule I substance, contrary to Sec. 4(1) of the CDSA;

• Possession of Illicit Cannabis, contrary to Sec. 8(1)(b) of the Cannabis Act; and

• Drive a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license, contrary to Sec. 32(1) of the Traffic Safety Act

Fullerton, Kucharyshen, and Ross are scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on June 22nd, 2020.

The investigation is ongoing.
