Red Deer, Alberta – On June 17, Red Deer RCMP assisted Winnipeg Police Service with the arrest of a male youth who was wanted in Winnipeg for first degree murder.
Winnipeg Police Service had an outstanding arrest warrant for a youth believed to be staying in Red Deer and reached out to the RCMP for assistance. On June 15, the RCMP Calgary Major Crimes Unit contacted Red Deer General Investigation Section (GIS) to effect the apprehension of the male. On June 17 at 6:51 a.m., the youth was located and arrested without incident by Red Deer RCMP GIS at a residence in the city.
The male youth was returned to Winnipeg on June 18, 2020. The Red Deer RCMP has no further involvement in relation to this arrest, but continues to support all partner police agencies.

Homicide Arrest: C20-113477
Winnipeg, Manitoba – On June 15, 2020, the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit utilized the assistance of the Calgary Police Service and the Red Deer RCMP in locating a male wanted for murder.
On June 17, 2020, the male youth was located by the Red Deer RCMP at an address in Red Deer. He has been charged with;
– First Degree Murder
He was detained in custody.
The Winnipeg Police Services reminds media outlets that the court order authorizing the publication of information about this youth has expired.

Homicide Unit investigators have obtained a Court Order authorizing the publication of the identity of a youth suspect sought in connection with the homicide.
A Canada-wide warrant for First Degree Murder has been issued for a 17-year-old male of Winnipeg.
He is described as Indigenous in appearance, 6’0” in height, and 133 lbs in weight with a thin build.
Note: This court order ceases to have effect on Monday, June 8, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. Media outlets are reminded not to publish images of the male or name him after that time.
