Springdale, Newfoundland and Labrador – Last night, Springdale RCMP arrested 18-year-old Brady Penney of Springdale, who faces multiple charges after the pickup truck he was driving left the scene after hitting a pedestrian, a 20-year-old man who was seen at hospital for minor injuries.
The hit and run occurred yesterday afternoon in South Brook. It is alleged that after striking the victim with his truck, Penney threatened the man and then drove away. Police issued a request to the public last evening for assistance in locating the pickup truck, described as an older model Ford F150 extended cab pick up truck, dark blue in color with the lower portion of the vehicle painted grey.
Penney will appear in court today and faces multiple Criminal Code (CC) charges:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm CC 320.13(2)
Failure to stop after accident CC 320.16(1)
Failure to comply with a release order condition – 3 counts CC 145(5)(a)
Uttering threats against a person CC 264.1(1)(a).
He has also been ticketed for offences under the Highway Traffic Act:
Operating an unregistered/unlicensed vehicle
Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license
Operating a vehicle without an insurance policy.
