Suspect In Custody After Stabbing Leaves Man With Potentially Life-Threatening Injuries: Victoria Police

Victoria, BC – A suspect is in custody after a stabbing Thursday afternoon left a man with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Patrol officers were called to the 2900-block of Douglas Street just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday for a report that a man had been stabbed. When they arrived, officers discovered the victim being given medical attention. The man was transported to hospital. Officers learned that the incident had been caught on surveillance video. They identified the female suspect and began to search for her.

Officers learned that the suspect was in Sidney, B.C. Officers liaised with Sidney RCMP, who located the suspect, arrested her and transported her back to VicPD cells. While the search for the suspect was underway, Patrol officers learned that the victim had left the hospital against medical advice, and was suffering from potentially life-threatening injuries. Patrol officers began to search for the victim. He was located and taken into protective custody before being transported back to hospital for medical treatment. He remains in hospital.

The female suspect was held for morning court on recommended charges including aggravated assault.
