EPS investigating mischief complaint after several vehicles had tires slashed; police believe there may be additional complainants

Edmonton, Alberta – The EPS is investigating a mischief spree after several vehicles were found with their tires slashed in the city’s west end.

Just after midnight today, Thursday, July 9, 2020, police responded to an address near 113 Avenue and 125 Street regarding a mischief complaint. Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old male who allegedly slashed the tires on several vehicles in the area. The male suspect was taken into custody and has several charges pending against him.

A little later this morning, around 9:30 a.m., police responded to the same neighborhood after several other complainants contacted police after discovering their vehicle’s tires had also been slashed.

Over 10 reports of tire-slashing have been received by police so far, however investigators believe there may be additional complainants who have yet to come forward. Residents in the area of 113 Avenue and 125 Street are encouraged to check their vehicles and report any damage that may have occurred over the last 24 hours.
