Five suspects arrested in multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking operation

West Shore, BC – The West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime unit have arrested 5 suspects following an investigation into a multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking operation.

Following a nearly year long complex investigation, the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit executed 3 search warrants on 2 residences and 1 business located in the Capital Regional District. Police searched properties in Langford, Shawnigan Lake and Duncan and believe all three are related to the same drug trafficking operation.

The Drugs and Organized Crime Unit seized a vast amount of evidence including approximately 90 grams of suspected Cocaine, a prohibited modified handgun (found loaded and stored unsafely), 4 replica handguns and other prohibited weapons including brass knuckles and a switch blade knife.

Police also recovered 1 stolen vehicle and 1 stolen mountain bike during the search. Two additional vehicles and 1 motor bike were seized as evidence as police believe they were used in the commission of crime(s). One the properties also contained an illegal marijuana grow operation which was not licenced and had over 100 plants.

“We arrested three male suspects, ages 32, 23 and 21 and two female suspects, ages 29 and 23. The West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit is continuing this investigation and numerous drug trafficking and weapons related charges are expected to be forwarded to Crown Counsel,” said Cst. Pollock, West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit.
