Fort Saskatchewan RCMP seize weapons and drugs during traffic stop

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – On July 5, 2020, while conducting pro-active patrols in the downtown core, members of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP conducted a vehicle stop.

RCMP members entered into a drug investigation and the vehicle occupants were subsequently taken into custody.

A search incidental to arrest was completed and the following items were seized:

Quantities of suspected Fentanyl, Cocaine and Methamphetamine as well as a baton, and bear spray.

Rebecca Cardinal (27) of Edmonton was charged with five offences including:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance x3

• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x2

Lorraine Cardinal (53) of Edmonton was charged with three offences including:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance x3

Both Rebecca and Lorraine Cardinal were released from custody on conditions following a Judicial Hearing and are set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on September 10, 2020.
