Revelstoke, BC – RCMP in Revelstoke has engaged local search and rescue crews to aid in the search of the Columbia River after reports were received that a possible body had been seen floating downstream early Sunday evening.
On July 12, 2020 at 6:40 p.m., Revelstoke RCMP received a request to assist BC Emergency Health Services after they received reports of a possible body floating in the Columbia River, near the Highway 1 bridge, which spans the Columbia River.
Revelstoke RCMP immediately launched their vessel on the river to search and called upon Revelstoke Search and Rescue (REVSAR) to assist. Search and rescue crews also launched their boat to aid in the search on the water, and a helicopter from above.
The search resumed on Monday, with added support from aircraft from both agencies.
