38-year-old man now facing 22 charges including several firearms charges: New Brunswick

Moncton, New Brunswick – A 38-year-old man who was charged last week with a variety of offences, including several firearms charges, has now been charged with four additional offences.

On July 14, 2020, the New Brunswick RCMP received a report of an assault that had taken place in the Moncton area. As part of the investigation into the assault complaint, police executed a search warrant at a home on Clarendon Drive in Moncton on July 16, and seized several firearms and other items. A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation.

On July 17, 2020, Marc Everett Lebouthillier appeared via teleremand and was charged with 18 offences, including assault, sexual assault, uttering threats and firearms offences.

On July 22, he appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with four additional counts of uttering threats.

Marc Everett Lebouthillier was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on August 7.

BACKGROUND

July 18, 2020

A 38-year-old man has been charged with 18 offences, including several firearms charges, following an investigation by the New Brunswick RCMP.

On July 14, 2020, the New Brunswick RCMP received a report of an assault that had taken place in the Moncton area. As part of the investigation into the assault complaint, police executed a search warrant at a home on Clarendon Drive in Moncton on July 16th, 2020, and seized several firearms and other items. On July 15, police arrested a 38-year-old man.

On July 17, Marc Everett Lebouthiller appeared via teleremand and was charged with:

two counts of assault

sexual assault

choking

three counts of uttering threats

three counts of possession of firearms without licence

three counts of knowingly possessing firearms without licence

careless storage of a firearm

careless storage of ammunition

possession of lock picking tools

possession of a prohibited weapon.

He was remanded in custody pending a bail hearing on July 22, 2020 in Moncton Provincial Court.

The investigation is continuing.
