Westlock, Alberta – This afternoon at 2:44 Westlock RCMP responded to a serious two vehicle collision that left two people deceased.
On Highway 2, north of Nestow, a truck travelling northbound collided with an SUV travelling southbound. The truck appears to have crossed into the southbound lanes.
The SUV had three occupants. Two of the female occupants were declared deceased on scene, and the third occupant was transported to the hospital. The four occupants in the pickup truck were transported to an area hospital.
The RCMP collision analyst attended to conduct a scene examination. The RCMP are clear from the collision location, however tow trucks remain on scene to clear the debris. It is anticipated that the highway will be open for travel in approximately one hour.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
