UPDATE: Human remains recovered near Highway 16, approximately 40 kilometres east of Prince George, B.C., identified

Prince George, BC – BC RCMP Major Crime Unit have identified the found human remains as being 34-year-old female Crystal Chambers from Prince George. The BC Coroners Services conducted an autopsy which assisted in the identification.

Chambers remains were located 40 kilometers east of Prince George on August 2, 2020. Police are continuing to investigate what happened to Chambers leading up to her death.

BACKGROUND

Prince George, BC – On the afternoon of Saturday August 1st, 2020, the Prince George RCMP with the assistance of the Prince George Search & Rescue Society, recovered human remains near Highway 16, approximately 40 kilometres east of Prince George.

This investigation is in its early stages, however police do not believe there are any public safety concerns.

The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is conducting a parallel fact-finding investigation to determine cause of death.
