Regina Male Charged With Attempted Murder of 7-Year-Old Child

Regina Saskatchewan – A 24 year-old male is charged with Attempted Murder after investigation into a weekend incident, which resulted in the hospitalization of a seven year-old child.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, at approximately 4:26 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Brotherton Avenue and Cavendish Street for an “assist citizen” call. A taxi driver reported he had come across a young girl, outside a business, who was bleeding from the head. There did not appear to be any adults accompanying the child, who was without shoes or a jacket. Police located the cab, where the driver had given the young victim shelter.

Through investigation, it was determined the child lived in the 0-99 block of Cavendish Street. She was taken to hospital by EMS for her injuries. It is anticipated the victim will recover fully. Police went to the address in question and located an adult male, who was trying to leave the residence.
