Stolen pieces of government identification and electronics recovered by Alberta RCMP, Ontario male charged

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP arrested two suspects in relation to a theft out of Nisku, Alta.

In the early hours of Aug.3, 2020 a flatbed trailer hauling an SUV was stolen from the parking lot of a hotel in Nisku. On the same day at approximately 8:45 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP observed a Uhaul towing a flatbed trailer and SUV matching the description travelling southbound on Highway 21 in Sherwood Park.

Police located the unoccupied Uhaul along with the flatbed trailer and SUV in a field near Range Road 231 and Township Road 521. Police determined the flatbed trailer and SUV to be stolen from Nisku.

With the assistance of the RCMP Police dog, a male and female suspect were located in a nearby outbuilding and arrested without incident.

Inside the Uhaul, police located several stolen pieces of government identification and electronics.

Christopher Allen Williams (27) of Ontario, was charged with;

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x2)

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x4)

· Illegal possession of government documents (x4)

· Theft of credit card

· Break and enter

· Obstruct police officer

Christopher Allen Williams was released on a Recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 2, 2020 in Sherwood Park Provincial Court.

The female was released without charges.
