Toronto Police charge man in July 28 Sexual Assault of 17-year-old girl in the Woodbine Beach area

Toronto, Ontario – The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a sexual assault investigation.

On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 5:04 p.m., officers responded to a call for a sexual assault in the Woodbine Beach area.

It is alleged that:

– a 17-year-old girl was sitting at the beach

– she was approached by a man who was a stranger

– the man sexually assaulted her

– he then fled

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, the man was seen again at the same located and arrested.

James Alston, 39, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Sexual Assault

He is scheduled to appear at College Park court on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 10 a.m., in courtroom 507.

This is an on-going investigation.
