Two men charged following seizure of firearm, drugs and cash: Lethbridge Police

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged two men after a drug transaction observed by members of the Crime Suppression Team lead to the seizure of drugs from a public washroom and the execution of a warrant at a north side home.

On Aug. 10, 2020 just before 5 p.m. CST officers observed a male – known to have outstanding warrants – leave a home along the 200 block of 14 Street North with a second male. A drug transaction was observed a short distance away and the men later attended Park Place Mall. Both men were arrested at the mall without incident – one in the washroom and the other in the food court. A search of the washroom resulted in police seizing fentanyl and methamphetamine hidden in a stall. A warrant was subsequently obtained and executed at the north side home where additional quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized along with a 12-guage shotgun with the serial number ground down, more than $27,000 cash, two cans of bear spray and assorted stolen property including bikes, tools and tires. In total, 76.5 grams of methamphetamine and 53 grams of fentanyl, worth approximately $15,190, was seized from the home and washroom.

Kevin Paul Patch Rabeau, 37, of Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a weapon while prohibited, one count each of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with the serial number defaced, altered or removed, careless storage of a firearm and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.



Samuel Neil Fehr, 20, of Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count each of possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of a firearm with the serial number defaced, altered or removed, unauthorized possession of a weapon, careless use/storage of a firearm and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

The investigation is ongoing in relation to the stolen property and additional charges are pending.

Both men are currently in custody awaiting Judicial Interim Release hearings.
