Norway House RCMP investigate Identity Fraud; “Officers seized over 70 counterfeit IDs”

Norway House, Manitoba – On August 6, 2020, at approximately 8:35 pm, Norway House RCMP responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle that had gone through the COVID-19 checkpoint in the community. It was reported that the occupants did not seem to know where they were going and had refused to answer multiple questions.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. A subsequent investigation led to a search of the vehicle. Officers seized over 70 counterfeit IDs, a large amount of cash, multiple cellphones and pepper spray.

Three males were arrested.

Beni Gileza, 23, of Chateauguay, QC, has been charged with:

Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

Fail to Comply x3

Wesnerlens Jordonne, 22, of Mercier, QC, has been charged with:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Unauthorized possession of Weapon

Sekou Toure, 19, of Chateauguay, QC, has been charged with:

Identity Theft x31

Identify Fraud

Possession of a forged Document x2

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Unauthorized possession of Weapon

Fail to Comply x2

They appeared before a judge and were released with a court date of October 7, 2020.
