Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a female and a male in relation to a shooting in a northeast Edmonton parking lot earlier this week.
On Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at approximately 5:20 p.m. Northeast Division officers responded to the report of a shooting in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in the area of 135 Avenue and Fort Road. It was reported to police that a verbal argument about a designated accessible parking stall took place between a female pedestrian and two males in a white Toyota Rav 4 SUV. As the SUV backed out of the parking stall, a male acquaintance of the female also reportedly approached the vehicle. The male passenger in the vehicle then reportedly fired a shot at the male and female pedestrians before the SUV fled the parking lot.
Thanks to an off-duty Northeast Division officer who recognized the vehicle, police located the SUV and the suspects yesterday, Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, in the area of 172 Avenue and Schonsee Drive. The suspects remain in custody and charges are pending.
Investigators are releasing a video of the incident and photos of the complainants in hopes that they or someone that knows them comes forward with information.
The female pedestrian is described as a 20-25-year-old white female with long dyed blonde hair. She was reportedly wearing white floral shorts with a matching tank top, white runners, glasses and a red face mask.
The male pedestrian is described as a 25-year-old Indigenous male with a tall thin build. He was reportedly wearing blue jeans, an orange t-shirt, dark coloured runners and a dark coloured baseball cap.
