Brandon, Manitoba – Theft and Recovery of Motor Vehicle – On Sunday morning, a resident on Falcon Crescent reported theft of a Toyota 4-Runner vehicle that was parked inside the garage at the home. At approximately 2:00 p.m., a patrol member located the vehicle abandoned in the 1500 Block of 26th street. The vehicle was towed to BPS for forensic examination and the investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 6:40 A.M. Sunday morning, a female reported walking in the 1000 Block of 18th Street when an unknown male suspect approached her from behind and touched her in an inappropriate sexual manner. Police attended and searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as being approximately 6’ feet tall, brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a red hooded sweater and grey sweat pants. The victim was not physically injured and the Police investigation continues.
At approximately 8:40 A.M. Sunday morning, Police and Fire members responded to a report of a shed smouldering in the backyard of an East End residence. Members from Brandon Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the small fire and the homeowner discovered a gas can in the backyard that did not belong to the property. The Police investigation continues.
Breach of Release Order X 4:
On Sunday evening, Police responded to a residence in the 800 Block of Russell Street after receiving a complaint of a disturbance. A 48-year-old man from Ontario was located and found to be the cause of the disturbance. A criminal record check of the suspect discovered that he was in breach of four conditions of a Release Order. The suspect was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Police Service; he is scheduled to appear in Court later today.
Warrant of Arrest Executed:
On Sunday night, Police arrested a 41-year old man on an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under $5000 X4 and Fail to Attend Court. The man has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in October.
Possession of Forged Passports:
At approximately 10:30 P.M. Sunday night, Police stopped a vehicle with Alberta license plates in the 1800 Block of Rosser Avenue. A male was driving the vehicle with a female passenger. During the course of investigation, Police located two passports both having the female passenger’s photo but with different names. The female was uncooperative and refused to provide her name to officers. The female was arrested for Possession of a Forged Passport and transported to the Police Service. She eventually identified herself however; the name provided did not match either Passport. The 21-year-old female of no fixed address remains in Police custody and is scheduled to appear in Court later today.
One individual was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Police Service to be released once sober.
One individual was detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act and will be released once sober.
