Dangerous driving ends with the arrest of a 28-year-old male from Duncan; “placed the truck into reverse and collided into the front of the police vehicle”

Nanaimo, BC – On Wednesday August 26, 2020, at approximately 930 AM, Nanaimo RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a parked older grey Ford F150, near View St in south Nanaimo. Once the police vehicle stopped behind the truck, the driver placed the truck into reverse and collided into the front of the police vehicle. The driver continued in reverse and hit two parked vehicles. He then drove down an embankment and through a residential yard before heading up Fifth Street to Nanaimo Parkway.

The truck was spotted heading northbound on Nanaimo Parkway and making a right turn onto Northfield Road by witnesses who directed police to its location. The truck and driver were located by police at a business on Boxwood Road and after brief foot chase and a short altercation, a 28-year-old male from Duncan was taken into custody and is now facing charges related to the incident.
