Kings County collision claims two lives: Nova Scotia

Canard, Kings County, Nova Scotia – An 18-year-old male and a female in her teens died last evening following a collision on Hwy. 358 in Canard, Kings County. The female’s age is not being released pending confirmation of her identity by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.

Both of the deceased were passengers in a vehicle whose driver lost control while travelling North on Hwy. 358. The vehicle crossed the centre line, struck a utility pole and overturned. The female died at the scene and the male died a short time later in hospital. The male driver and other male passenger were located at the scene by police and an investigation into the circumstance leading to the collision is ongoing. Both were transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries which are not believed to be serious.

Several witnesses have provided statements, and police continue to request that anyone who witnessed the collision contact Kings District RCMP at 902-679-5555.
