Stratford, Prince Edward Island – In the early morning hours of September 1st, Stratford RCMP observed a suspicious vehicle in the Rosebank Road area.
Police located a 20 year-old Charlottetown woman inside the vehicle who, after further investigation, was arrested for possession of stolen property.
The RCMP’s Police Dog Handler was called to assist and the dog lead police to 35 year-old Justin James Reynolds of Charlottetown who was hiding on a near by property. The RCMP’s Forensic Identification Service was also called in to assist.
Mr. Reynolds was arrested for possession of stolen property and trespass at night.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed numerous stolen items, break-in tools and a quantity of drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana.
The 20 year-old woman was released later the same day and will appear in court on October 14th to answer to charges of possession stolen property.
Mr. Reynolds remains in custody and will appear in court on Wednesday, September 9th, to answer to charges of possession of stolen property, trespass at night, breach of probation and failing to attend to provide fingerprints. Drug charges are also pending.
