Vermilion RCMP Execute Search Warrant After Vehicle Theft Victim Assaulted

Vermilion, Alberta – In the late afternoon hours of September 7, Vermilion RCMP received a report of an assault in relation to a stolen vehicle compliant. The victim’s car had been stolen and when she confronted the suspect, she was assaulted.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s home and subsequently recovered the stolen vehicle. During the course of the search warrant execution the accused was found in possession of a sawed off shotgun.

Andrew James Prill (age 34) of Vermilion is charged with the following offences:

– Assault

– Possession of stolen property X2

– Possession of a prohibited weapon

– Possession of weapon while prohibited

Mr Prill was held to appear before a justice of the peace. He remains in custody to next appear in Provincial Court in St Paul to speak to bail.
