Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic/Crime Reduction Unit seize drugs and weapons during traffic stop

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – On September 12, 2020, While conducting patrols on 99 Avenue and 101 Street, members of the Fort Saskatchewan Traffic/Crime Reduction Unit conducted a vehicle stop.

RCMP members identified the vehicle occupants, and determined the driver to be prohibited from driving Canada wide and wanted on outstanding warrants for his arrest. The female passenger was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for her arrest. The female and male passenger were found also found to be breaching release order conditions in relation to unrelated matters.

As a result of the investigation, the vehicle occupants were taken into custody.

One pound of marijuana, 4 grams of Methamphetamine, 28ml of Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), Bear Spray, Brass Knuckles, Digital Scale, Packaging, Stolen Credit Cards, Knives and $3385.00 dollars in Canadian Currency, suspected of being proceeds of crime.
One pound of marijuana, 4 grams of Methamphetamine, 28ml of Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), Bear Spray, Brass Knuckles, Digital Scale, Packaging, Stolen Credit Cards, Knives and $3385.00 dollars in Canadian Currency, suspected of being proceeds of crime.

A search incidental to arrest was completed and the following items were seized:

One pound of marijuana, 4 grams of Methamphetamine, 28ml of Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), Bear Spray, Brass Knuckles, Digital Scale, Packaging, Stolen Credit Cards, Knives and $3385.00 dollars in Canadian Currency, suspected of being proceeds of crime.

As a result of the investigation,

Victor Turnbull (26) of Edmonton, was charged with the following offences including:

· Operation while Prohibited x2

· Resists/Obstructs Peace Officer

· Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

· Unauthorized Possession of a firearm, Prohibited Weapon or Restricted Weapon

· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

· Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling

· Fail to Comply with Release Order x4

Savanna Witwicki (18) of Edmonton, was charged with the following offences including:

· Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling

· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

· Unauthorized use of Credit Card Data

· Fail to Comply with Release Order

Joseph Bucek (48) of Edmonton, was charged with the following offences including:

· Possession of a Controlled Substance x2

· Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling

· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

· Fail to Comply with Probation Order

· Fail to Comply with Release Order

Victor Turnball was remanded into custody following a Judicial Hearing and is set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on September 24, 2020. Joseph Bucek was remanded into custody following a Judicial Hearing and is set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on September 17, 2020. Savanna Witwicki was released from custody on conditions following a Judicial Hearing and is set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on October 22, 2020
