Vancouver Police Department investigating three homicides; “Vancouver’s 12th, 13th and 14th homicides of the year”

Vancouver, BC – Vancouver Police are investigating three homicides in two unrelated incidents that occurred in Vancouver overnight.

Just after 7 p.m., officers were called to the Astoria Hotel where two people were found unresponsive in a room. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died at hospital.

Then shortly after, just before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to multiple 911 calls of shots being fired near East 64th Avenue and Knight Street. One victim was found dead in front of a house in the area.

Both incidents are being investigated by VPD’s Major Crime Section. Investigators do not believe there is any risk to the public.
