Personal Support Worker charged after elderly woman assault in London, Ontario

London, Ontario – A London woman is facing charges in relation to an assault on an elderly woman.

On September 9, 2020, at approximately 2 p.m., a woman employed as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) attended an address in the north end of the city to care for a woman in her 80s. Later on the same date, family members observed injuries on the victim.

On September 10, 2020, police were notified of the assault.

As a result of the investigation, Jean Gatwaza, 38, of London, is charged with one count of assault.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on December 8, 2020, in relation to the charge.
