Airdrie RCMP seize drugs and charge Edmonton woman as a result of a traffic stop; “officer was simply going to tell the driver to turn her lights on”

Airdrie, Alberta – At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Sept. 9, 2020, an Airdrie RCMP officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle which had no tail lights. The officer was simply going to tell the driver to turn her lights on, however upon contact he made observations that lead to an arrest for drug possession.

A search of the vehicle incidental to arrest resulted in the seizure of various quantities of Marihuana, Xanax, Cocaine, Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.

Elizabeth Quinn (25 yrs) of Edmonton, Alta has been charged with the following offences:

· Possession of Property obtained by crime

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x3 – Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Fentanyl)

Quinn was released on conditions and will be appearing in Airdrie Provincial Court on October 29, 2020.
