Portage la Prairie RCMP stolen vehicle recovery leads to Search Warrant

Portage la Prairie, Manitoba – On September 15, 2020, at 9:50 am, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a call of an intoxicated female passenger in a vehicle at an address located in the 100 block of 4th Street SE in Portage la Prairie.

Officers arrived and determined that the vehicle had been stolen from Lac du Bonnet. A 36-year-old female, from Winnipeg, was arrested on scene and also found in possession of a prohibited weapon and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The investigation led officers to an apartment complex, in the 100 block of 4th Street SE, where officers located a firearm and a can of bear spray. Three additional suspects were arrested on scene.

A search warrant executed at this address resulted in the seizure of additional drugs believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin.

Kara Fredette, 20-year-old female from Winnipeg

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

Luke Woodhouse, 25-year-old male from Winnipeg

The four accused appeared in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on September 16, 2020.
