Iqaluit, Nunavut – Iqaluit RCMP officer’s Cpl. Jamie Savikataaq and S/Cst. Mosesie Ikkidluak recently took advantage of the favourable low tides last weekend in Frobisher Bay and harvested some clams, a delicacy among Inuit. Both officers provided their entire batch of the freshly harvested clams to the elder’s home along with some other country food such as Arctic Char.
The elders were delighted and excited to share some country food with the officers as they exchanged stories with each other.
“We are always happy to give back to the community, especially to the elders who have guided us and provide us with leadership, courage and wisdom,” said Cpl. Jamie Savikataaq.
