Lewisporte RCMP investigates report of child luring, no attempt occurred: Newfoundland and Labrador

Lewisporte, Newfoundland and Labrador – Lewisporte RCMP investigated a report of a possible child luring attempt that happened on October 2, 2020, and determined there was no attempt to abduct the child.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m., police were notified of an incident on Pine Avenue in Lewisporte where a woman, who was driving an SUV, stopped and spoke to a child. The child ran away and reported the incident to a parent. Police identified the woman and determined that, although she did speak to the child, there was no attempt to lure the child.
