UPDATE: RCMP release name of Edmonton man charged with Child Luring and Make Sexually Explicit Material available to child

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP would like to update that 37-year-old Raymond Anderson of Edmonton is charged with the following offences:

· Child Luring

· Make Sexually Explicit Material available to child

· Agreement or Arrangement of Sexual Offence against child

· Fail to Comply with Probation

The victim and the suspect are not believed to be known to each other.

BACKGROUND:

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – After receiving a complaint from a concerned guardian, The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP along with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, conducted an investigation and determined a 37-year-old male attempted to lure a 16-year-old child using social media.

As a result of the investigation the 37-year old male from Edmonton is charged with the following offences:

· Child Luring

· Make Sexually Explicit Material available to child

· Agreement or Arrangement of Sexual Offence against child

· Fail to Comply with Probation

He was released on conditions following a Judicial Hearing and is set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on November 5, 2020.

The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP encourage parents and guardians to discuss internet and cellphone safety with their children.
