RCMP respond to three separate suspicious fires within the Town of Edson

Edson, Alberta – In the early hours of Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, the Edson RCMP responded to three separate fires within the town limits.

A mobile home at the Cedars Mobile Home Park was fully engulfed and ultimately completely destroyed by fire. A neighbouring home has sustained extensive damage in the related fire. RCMP also responded to two separate vehicle fires that resulted in both vehicles being lost to fire.

All three fires were attended by numerous first responders including the Town of Edson Fire Department and the Yellowhead County Fire Department.

Edson RCMP along with the Office of the Fire Investigator continue to investigate the cause of these fires. On Oct. 5, 2020, the Town of Edson Fire Chief deemed these incidents arson. Estimates of the damage are being tallied and no one was injured in these matters.
