Large police presence at downtown residence as Red Deer RCMP execute warrant

Red Deer, Alberta – Shortly after 7 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to an unknown situation involving a possible firearm at a downtown residential building along 55 Street.

Red Deer RCMP contained the scene and upon further investigation, determined that the individual inside the residence was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Due to information that the suspect was armed with a weapon, Red Deer RCMP requested the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Police Dog Service (PDS).

Upon their arrival, ERT served a warrant, and shortly thereafter took one male and one female into custody without incident.

Quentin Strawberry, 39, of O’Chiese First Nation, and Jennifer Caswell, 38, of Red Deer, were arrested for breaching no-contact conditions.

Strawberry is charged with failure to comply and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Oct. 9.

Caswell is charged with breach of probation and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Nov. 10.
