Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Medical Examiner has released autopsy results in connection to the death of a 13-year-old female last weekend.
Autopsy results confirmed the cause of death was a stab wound and the manner of death to be homicide.

Background:
The EPS Homicide Section charged a female youth in connection to the death of a 13-year-old female last weekend.
Just after 11 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, police were called to the area of 75 Street and Mount Lawn Road NW on the report of an assault. When officers arrived, they located a female youth with serious injuries. The youth was treated and transported to hospital by paramedics, where she was pronounced deceased.
A female youth has since been charged with second degree murder. As per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the accused cannot be named as she is underage.
