Lethbridge Police want to remind all citizens that vehicles left unlocked and running to “warm up” during these cooler days are huge targets for offenders. Oftentimes stolen vehicles are simply a crime of opportunity. Here are some tips from LPS to prevent vehicle thefts and other property offences:
· Don’t leave a running vehicle unlocked or unattended;
· Don’t leave spare sets of keys in your vehicle;
· If your vehicle or keys have been stolen, immediately change the locks;
· Report any suspicious activity or vehicle crime to police.
