Camrose Police respond to 911 call of woman screaming into phone: Camrose Police Report

Camrose, Alberta – October 26, 2020 – Staff at Walmart reported that a vehicle had been parked in their lot for several days. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen out of Red Deer.

Police received several complaints that the train was blocking the intersections from 68 street to 48 street. CN rail had engine issues with one of their locomotives and there was an hour and a half delay until they were able to get the train moved.

October 25, 2020

A west end fuel station reported that someone had stolen 20 pound propane bottles from the cage where they are stored. Police are waiting on video surveillance.

A male reported that his grey Ford Focus had been damaged while parked in the Canadian Tire parking lot. Police are investigating the hit & run.

October 24, 2020

A male called 911 reporting that he had been assaulted. Members attended and obtained independent witness statements outlining what had occurred. A male was arrested and charged with assault.

A female advised that her white Rocky Mountain bicycle was stolen from 46 street in the 4700 block overnight.

Police received a 911 call from a female who was screaming on the phone and then hung up. Police attended the area and located the female who was very intoxicated and uncooperative. The female who was still screaming was in such an intoxicated state that she was arrested to prevent further breach of the peace.

The owner of a business reported that someone had broken into their business and stole a cheque, a debit machine and other paperwork. Police are investigating.

October 23, 2020

Police received a complaint of an aggressive male in the area of 48 avenue in the 4600 block. The male was threatening others, smashed a window on a building and then ran into traffic on 48 avenue, smashing the window of a vehicle that had come to a stop. The male continued his aggressive behavior with Police who had to use force to restrain him. The male was taken to St. Mary’s hospital and then transferred to the Centennial Center in Ponoka.

A male reported that the locks and ignition on his 2005 Ford F350 had been punched while parked on 45 street in the 4900 block.

October 22, 2020

A male with outstanding warrants for assault was located by Police and arrested. The male is in custody and waiting on a bail hearing.
