Maskwacis RCMP investigate pedestrian fatality on Highway 2A

Maskwacis, Alberta – At 10:30 p.m. last night, patrolling Maskwacis RCMP members came across a vehicle and pedestrian collision on Highway 2A, approximately three km north of Maskwacis. EMS attended and the 51-year-old male pedestrian, from Ermineskin First Nation, was declared deceased as a result of the collision.

The vehicle, which had been travelling on Highway 2A when it collided with the male who was in the northbound lane, remained on scene.

At the time of the collision, visibility was poor as a result of a rain/snow mix.

Traffic was diverted on Highway 2A while the RCMP collision analyst attended the scene to conduct an examination. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Further updates are not anticipated.
