Suspect charged with Attempted Murder after Stabbing & Slashing “Court Witness” multiple times: Camrose Police Report

Camrose, Alberta – October 29, 2020 – A male who attended Police headquarters for fingerprinting was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Red Deer. During his arrest Police located a quantity of methamphetamine on his person and he was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police received a 911 call that someone had just been stabbed. At the same time St. Mary’s hospital also contacted Police advising they had a patient with multiple stab wounds. The investigation led Police to locating a 24 year old male who was responsible for the attack. The suspect went to the victim’s residence. There he located the victim inside his vehicle and the suspect opened the car door where he stabbed and slashed him multiple times. The victim who had been a court witness against the suspect for a previous assault, was transported to a hospital in Edmonton for treatment of his injuries. The suspect was charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Provoke Fear in a Justice System Participant and breaching his conditions. The male is in custody waiting on a bail hearing.

Police received a 911 call from a female advising that she was moving items to a storage unit and someone had stolen two of the totes that she had left outside. The female advised the property in the totes is worth approximately $1500.
