Glovertown, Newfoundland and Labrador – A 44-year-old man has died in hospital following a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) that happened on Friday, November 6, 2020.
Shortly before 5:00 p.m., Glovertown RCMP were notified of the collision between a car and a truck at the intersection of the TCH and Route 310, Eastport/Traytown Junction. The car, which was eastbound on the TCH, crossed over the centre line to make a left hand turn onto Route 310 and collided with an oncoming pickup truck that was heading west on the TCH.
Police, fire and ambulance attended the scene and the two individuals in the car were removed using the jaws of life. Both were transported for medical treatment and the man, who was the passenger of the car, later died while in hospital.
The occupants of the truck were uninjured and all occupants were wearing seat belts. The investigation is continuing.
