Parkland RCMP charge Spruce Grove male with Sexual Exploitation; “attempted to engage two young males, ages eleven and twelve, while at the Tri-Leisure Centre”

Spruce Grove, Alberta – Parkland RCMP arrested a 58-yr-old male in connection with an investigation dealing with Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Assault that occurred on Sept. 17, 2020.

The accused followed and attempted to engage two young males, ages eleven and twelve, while at the Tri-Leisure Centre swimming pool. The accused touched one of the young males inappropriately. Staff at the Tri-Leisure Centre did not witness the actual event, but suspected inappropriate behavior, immediately intervened and prevented further abuse.

As a result of the investigation, Leonard Frostad (58) of Spruce Grove, Alta. is charged with the following offences:

· Sexual Exploitation

· Sexual Assault

Following a Judicial Hearing, Leonard Frostad was released from custody with numerous conditions, including not to have any contact or communication with a child under 16-yrs-old and not to attend any public areas where youth could be present. His first appearance is Nov. 25, 2020 at Stony Plain Provincial Court.

Parkland RCMP are seeking information on any other potential victims.
