Beaumont RCMP investigate arson; “The house was occupied at the time of the fire”

Beaumont, Alberta – On November 19, 2020 at 5:20 a.m., Beaumont RCMP along with Beaumont Fire Services responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Rue Montalet. The fire was extinguished by the homeowner and the poor weather conditions. Investigation determined the fire to be an arson and is being investigated by the RCMP with assistance from the Forensic Identification Section. The house was occupied at the time of the fire but there where no injuries reported. Police are looking to identify a suspect who was seen approaching the house prior to the fire and then fleeing in a light coloured Chrysler 300 with dark rims.
