Grande Prairie RCMP seize forged identity documents and currency

Grande Prairie, Alberta – Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested several people, and recovered a significant amount of forged documents.

On Nov. 15, 2020, Grande Prairie RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence in the Westpointe neighbourhood, after receiving a tip from the public. Five individuals were arrested in the residence, and four are facing charges. The search of the home also led to the seizure of a large quantity of forged and fraudulent documents, currency, and equipment to create both, including the following:

fraudulent PAL (Firearms Possession & Acquisition Licence) cards

fraudulent credit & debit cards

numerous fraudulent cheques, including labelled Government of Canada

fraudulent Identification cards (such as AB & ON drivers licences)

counterfeit currency

passport previously reported stolen

computers, printers, laminator machines, printing paper

other equipment used to create fraudulent cards & ID

Body armour and ammunition were also located in the residence and recovered by police.

Dillan Redekopp (26) from Grande Prairie has been charged with:

Make/sell/possess instruments for making a forged document

Illegal possession or trafficking in Government documents

Theft, forgery, misuse of credit card

Making counterfeit money

Buy/possess/import counterfeit money

Make/print/publish likeness of note/security

Make/sell/possess instrument for counterfeiting

Fail to comply with release order

Posses a forged document

Jason Weatherall (30) of Edmonton has been charged with:

Make/sell/possess instruments for making a forged document

Illegal possession or trafficking in Government Documents

Use/traffic/possess a forged document

Possession of property obtained by crime

Kevin Stolth (40) of Grande Prairie has been charged with:

Make/sell/possess instruments for making a forged document

Unsafe storage of firearms (ammunition)

Possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon knowing possession unauthorized (ammunition)

Illegal possession or trafficking in Government documents

Theft, forgery, misuse of credit card

Unauthorized possession of body armour

Use/traffic/possess a forged document

Sarah Hart (34) of Grande Prairie has been charged with:

Make/sell/possess instruments for making a forged document

Unsafe storage of firearms (ammunition)

Possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon knowing possession unauthorized (ammunition)

Illegal possession or trafficking in Government Documents

Theft, forgery, misuse of credit card

Unauthorized possession of body armour

Use/traffic/possess a forged document

Weatherall, Stolth, and Hart are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on January 27, 2021. A warrant for arrest has been issued for Redekopp.
