Strathcona County RCMP investigate armed robbery at the Sioux Road 7-Eleven – Update, 17-year-old male charged

Sherwood Park, Alberta – RCMP have arrested a male youth in relation to an armed robbery that took place at the Sioux Road 7-Eleven on Nov. 27, 2020.

On Dec. 4, 2020, Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) along with the assistance of the Strathcona County RCMP completed a search warrant at a residence in Sherwood Park and a residence in rural Strathcona County.

A 17-year-old male from Sherwood Park, Alta. has been charged with:

· Robbery with a firearm

· Assault with a weapon

· Disguise with intent

· Fail to comply with probation order (x2)

The youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Jan. 12, 2021.

Strathcona County RCMP investigate armed robbery

Sherwood Park, Alberta – On Nov. 27, 2020 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on Sioux

Road in Sherwood Park.

The male suspect entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money. The lone male store clerk was assaulted and the suspect fled on foot with cash and cigarettes. Police Dog Services was deployed, but the male was not located. The store clerk sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as:

– Caucasian

– 5’5” (approximately)

– Thin build

– Wearing a black sweater with blue arms, blue mask, black pants with white strips, sunglasses and teal coloured running shoes.
