45-year-old man charged with aggravated assault and unlawful confinement: New Brunswick

Moncton, New Brunswick – A 45-year-old Moncton man has been charged with aggravated assault and unlawful confinement, in connection with an ongoing attempted murder investigation.

On December 9, 2020, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP arrested a man outside a home on Allison Drive in Moncton, N.B.

Martin Richard Sirois appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on December 10, by way of tele-remand and was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful confinement.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 16, at 2:15 p.m., for a bail hearing.

This is the second person to be charged following an incident that occurred on December 2, 2020, when police were called to the corner of Mountain Road and Oakland Avenue in Moncton.

The investigation is ongoing.
